“Worst Avocado Smash Yet”
Review of Caffe Italia

Never seen such an appalling display of avocado smash. It was blended into a mush rather than smashed, poached eggs overcooked, a very small portion size and the most expensive item on the breakfast menu!
Service was very average.. would not recommend this place at all.

We came for lunch and ordered a hot panini, scone and salmon baguette. To say it was awful is an understatement. The scone came with a tiny amount of jam and butter- no cream. It was also extremely thin and lacking sultanas. The baguette came with a seethrough slice of salmon, no butter and huge chunks of cucumber. The panini came 10 mins after- it was cold, with no mozzarella. This is hardly tough food to make which couldn’t even be made properly. We sent the panini back for them to just shove it under grill, no attempt for a fresh one. Finally, when we complained, the waitresses stood together talking about us - 1metre away from us- such poor customer service, how dare they stand talking about us & shaking their heads at us. They should be reminded who pays their bills..

Located in the heart of Banstead village, caffe Italia serves all day breakfast, hot and cold lunches and afternoon tea! At the weekends, the bar turns into a lively venue serving you your favourite cocktails and extensive wine list!

First time here since renovations. Lovely restaurant, lovely friendly helpful staff.
Great food, and our table was exactly where we requested it to be. Can’t recommend them too highly.

Can't comment on their whole offering but we have had a couple of really good breakfasts here recently, notably good sausages. Tidy place, nice service and good value.
