The toilet has an unpleasant odor all the time. Not good.

However, the hotel has great location. It's near to Asakusa (Tsukuba) St, and there's 24 hours Supermarket where you can buy souvenirs to bring back home.

The staff were very informative and kind too.

We stayed one week in this hotel during our visit to Tokyo. The hotel was very clean and the location very nice. It was very easy to visit from there everywhere to Tokyo by metro. The famous temple area and kitchen ware street were very near to hotel. Breakfast was very japanese with only some european food.

Very good price for this location. Not to be confused with Richmond Asakusa Premier, which just opened across the street, which I'm sure is even nicer, but probably more expensive. This hotel checked all the boxes -- nicely appointed, clean, good sized rooms, great location -- plus had convenient coin laundry facilities (only 300 yen for a load, and the machine does both wash and dry). Buffet breakfast option is very good with lots of food choices, including some Western items. Location is in older part of Tokyo, so streets are narrower with fewer traffic signals; but loaded with little shops, restaurants, and food stalls. Just go out the door of the hotel and turn left, and you'll walk past rows of inexpensive eateries lining the street. Lots of locals come here, and it's very authentic (and we saw very few Westerners at the eateries), and some places don't even have English menus. And if you go into any of the side alleys, you'll encounter even more "local" places, where the working class go. Just beware of smokers (smoking is permitted in most places).

Getting around from here isn't as convenient as being near a main train station, but it's not bad. And if you like walking around and experiencing local flavour, this is a great location. We sampled different Japanese cuisine (yakitori, okonomiyaki, motsunabe, etc...) every night we were here, just within a block or two of the hotel. And the impressive Senso-ji temple is only a couple blocks away. Tokyo Skytree is only one subway stop away.

Staff is very helpful and attentive, and most speak English well.

Room Tip: Best view are the rooms ending in 08.

Perfectly located near the temple, lots of restaurants and not far from the Sky Tree. We had a view of the temple and Sky Tree. Rooms are compact, clean and good facilities. Nice breakfast with lots of options.

We're occasional visitors to Tokyo and have stayed in all of the 6 major hotels that have multiple sites in the city. The Richmond really is superior to the rest. Nothing is forgotten: bottled water if you want it, even in this city of clean tap water, portable Ipod device with free calls to N. America, pajamas and slippers, electric plug adapters, silent AC, opening windows, proximity to everything in Asakusa, and nice bathroom. There is just enough room to be comfortable with is classic Japan hotel room. The breakfast is complete with all the Japanese and Western classics.
