Tiny room and location close to the train terminal.

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 14, 2024
room is tiny (like most of the hotels in Tokyo). Overall it's good hotel to stay for budget travelers. APA chain hotels have several location throughout Tokyo, I stay the one which located outside the crowded area to keep the noise minimal. It's a good hotel and highly recommend when visit to Tokyo.

Room Tip: Please add breakfast buffet to your room package, you will save some money because their food is...

For a hotel this busy (and it is seems to be hopping 24/7), I was so impressed with their staff! Our travel plans changed thrice in one day, and the wonderful staff at the hotel took it in stride and delivered 100% polite and perfect service. The property was very nice, and rooms comfortable, but what really stood out for me were the kind and knowledgeable staff. Very appreciative of their assistance, and I recommend.

Good hotel, the location was calm and quiet which was perfect for us but maybe not for others. It is conveniently right next to the station which makes for easy travel and there is lots of good restaurants nearby. The rooms, despite being clean, were pretty small. This might be the hotel or it could be japan as a whole. The hotel was overall clean, comforting and it was a good stay.

check in is automated which was difficult, the room is cleaned every 3 days and not cleaned well, the shelf above my bed was dusty like it had never been cleaned.
really bad position near a subway but miles from anywhere nothing to do locally at night, except the bleak bar below with awful bar food.
just a bad all round experience i have stayed in APA hotels before this is not a good one

Room tip: stay somewhere else

I was so disappointed in my room. Despite the room being the size of a shoebox, there are no shelves or closet space, NONE. The only place to put your belongings is inside your suitcase under the bed. It was annoying not being able to take out my clothing and hang them up during my week long stay.
I also would not recommended two people staying in the room as there is literally not enough space for more than one person at a time. I honestly would not have mind if the hotel provided a common area to lounge in but there is none.
Also you cannot control the temperature in your room. The room was too hot the entire time, it was so uncomfortable.
Also the spa was not a spa. It just consists of two hot tubs, that's it. No sauna or steam room available.

Room tip: Go somewhere else

Review of my room: “High Floor City View Double Room” for which I stayed 13 nights.

The good:
* Common toiletries provided
* Fresh towels provided daily.
* Bed is fairly comfortable.
* Mini fridge in room
* 2 minute walk to subway station called “Nishi-shinjuku Gochome station”

The bad:
* The area of the hotel sucks. It is very very very quiet. Nothing fun to do in this part of Shinjuku. It has a very corporate feeling. Not at all what I was expecting. Very disappointed in the area. Very boring. And there must be a hospital near by since there were a lot of ambulance sirens throughout the day and night.
* The room is extremely small. Because of its size, it is not functional.
* I would never consider this space accommodating to more than one person total.
* I knew the room was not going to be spacious but I at least expected it to be functional. It is not. The room is very crowded. And because of this, the room seems unwelcoming and unkept since there is literally no space to hide your belongings.
* There is no place to store your clothes. None at all.
* You have to store your luggage under the bed frame and crawl on the floor to access your luggage.
* There is no physical space to open your suitcase.
* There is only 4 feet/1.3 meters between the bed and the desk.
* The bathroom is tiny. I could not spread my arms without touching the opposing wall.
* There is no shelf space to place your toiletry items in the bathroom. So again, the bathroom feels disorganized and chaotic since you’re having to place your toiletries in odd places in the bathroom.
* Pool CANNOT be used if you have tattoos, and if you do want to use the pool, there is an additional cost of around $10-14 USD
* Pool is only open from July to September.
* Washer and dryer available. Cash only. Dryer took 2 hours to dry socks/underwear.
* No microwave in room. Only two public ones for guests uses
* No clothes iron in room. But there is an ironing room located on only 2 floors of the hotel.
* Only one ice machine for entire hotel.
* Housekeeping is only upon request.
* I paid extra for a “high floor.” It wasn’t worth it.
* You CANNOT control the air conditioning since it is only controlled centrally. There were many nights I sweat so much because my room was hot despite having the window opened as much as possible.
* I do not feel the price is paid is justified given the small cramped space
