The location of this place means you are facing a main road with a heck of a lot of traffic. Great if you can grab one of the earplug sets offered in a large bucket on arrival. But if travelling with small ones, you can't exactly where them, so trying to sleep thru the constant traffic can be a nightmare - not to mention it wakes the little ones meaning you have even less sleep.

They did kindly let us leave after one night understanding that we were very inconvenienced by the noise, but then told booking.com (who we booked them thru) that we were no shows and tried to charge us the full stay (and obviously more money). Not impressed at all about this sort of behavior.

All the other comments on the property are accurate, its got a lot of everything you need and is rather large by Japanese hotel standards. Having the office open only after 10 is also annoying, as seriously, 90% of guests checking out will leave before 10, meant we had to hang our a backwater of Tokyo (there is seriously NOTHING of interest around) waiting to leave this place.

Have to say the lack of clarity anywhere on the high level of noise and the fact that they tried to charge us twice, would rank this hotel as the worst we have stayed at in Japan. Which is saying quite a bit as this was our second 2+ week trip around the country.

Room tip: Bus 55 or 31 actually go to the hotel. The idiots at the front desk couldn't even tell me this - had to ask google to find out.

This little hotel offers a different experience for the traveller. Our room had the master bed up a ladder, and our son was on the bed immediately below. There is in-suite laundry (washing only), a hot plate, microwave, plates, cutlery, glassware, TV and Wi-Fi. There are no chairs, so we either sat on the floor or on our son's bed. We didn't spend much time in the room, however, as that wasn't what we in Tokyo for. In terms of location, there is a neat local shopping strip which was part of the village which got consumed by Tokyo as it expanded. It's a 12 minute walk to Tokiwadai station on the Tobu line, and from there you can get to the JR circle line which services downtown. There's lots to eat in the area, and a few neat little shops, and one great Korean-style place called Seoul in which you can cook your own food at your table, but because it's Japanese beef, it's really good tasting. The hotel clerk, Thomasz, was really helpful and cheery, and made us feel instantly welcome and gave us maps from the hotel to the subway lines and other great travelling tips. Great guy! It's clean, quiet and cheap, and a neat way to experience Tokyo. It is a bit remote, but then again, Tokyo is huge, so it just means that you need to plan your trip routes carefully. Lastly, our room came with a ladder to get to the upper loft/bed. Not sure if all the other rooms are like this but it's worthwhile to find out when booking.

Room tip: Rooms which are on the back street are much quieter.
