This soba-restaurant is situated at a convenient place near by Takaosan
railway terminal. The 150-years old persimmon tree stands through the roof.
A trunk of the old tree and a tiny water stream comes from Mt. Takao. All seats
are non-smoking. Many visitors have a meal after descending from the mountain.

Cold soba was refreshing and chewy. Tempura was not up to expectations- cold and not crispy. Didn't get to try the grated yam soba.

This soba restaurant located in Mt. Takao, and it featured Tororo soba. This restaurant was established in 1830, and it run by Takahashi family. Soba soup tasted a little bit sweet, and soup was good mariage with sticky Troro potate. The price was not much expensive. It was very crowded during the lunch time at weekends, so people had to line up in queues.

Go for the cold tororo soba, it's superbly refreshing for a hot day as well as after conquering Mount Takao.

The regular potion was huge, hence I had opted for a small portion, which was just nice for me. Had also the tempura, which was nicely done.

One of the best cold soba I have had travelling around Tokyo.

Ive been to quite many noodle places in Japan and this was definitely not a good one. It was ok and fulfilled its purpose of giving me energy, but didn't give the taste experience I expected. The broth was bland and the noodles a bit grainy. If your looking for a quick meal after a cold walk up mt Takao, this will do.
