Once again we found the staff very friendly and the food very tasty and well presented. The only problem we have which is the same with all the other pubs/restaurants in Corbridge is that there is limited parking. We were lucky to get a space in the free public car park but we had to wait for a space.

Thank you for doing a review on your recent visit to The Black Bull and delighted you enjoyed the experience. The parking is now for up to 3 hours in centre of Corbridge and the public car park is free and hoping to be made larger in the coming months. Thanks Linda.

We’ve been here twice and very good both times. Lovely roaring fires, and friendly and timely service. Our little ones enjoyed their kids meals, with lots of choice and the grown up menu is wide and varied. I had a fish finger sandwich which was no ordinary fish finger sandwich but tender chunky fish in crispy batter, on a par with fish and chips by the sea, but in a soft white sandwich, with lemon and tartar sauce on the side and a nicely dressed salad. I think quite possibly the best sandwich I have ever eaten. My husband had a lovely home made soup butternut squash and sweet potato, hearty full of veg and tasty with a kick of chilli. I would recommend.

Called for a quick lunch on a damp and dreary Saturday. We stopped on chance and were surprised that there were already a number of reservations and the pub was quite busy. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated by the roaring fire which suited us just fine.

My wife ordered fish pie and l the steak and ale pie. Both were lovely and not your average ‘churned out pub fodder’. The pie was hand raised (not in an annoying dish with 3inches of puff pastry), filled with a rich, meaty filling, and served with mash and vegetables.

Portions were not huge but surprisingly we couldn’t manage deserts.

The price was very reasonable at £11 - £12 per main. Not bad nowadays and very comparable to similar pubs.

Fully recommended. We will be back.

My wife and I had lunch there today. Lovely food, very tasty and hot.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is an old building with lots of atmosphere. The furniture is eclectic and tasteful. If you are in Corbridge pop in and see for yourself.

Reliably friendly welcome, great pies and a mean Sunday roast. Good traditional pub working hard to welcome all ages of customer. Kids menu is good value and adults spoilt for choice.
