What a beautiful and authentic resort

Review of Amarela Resort
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 weeks ago
We’ve been to many resorts in Panglao, Bohol, but The Amarela is really exceptional: the first thing you notice are the beautiful traditional design elements, the very distinctive architecture. It’s not another ‘Hyatt’ type of hotel, it’s distinctively Bohol style. The location is exceptional too, with the main building overlooking the lush landscape and the resort property reaching down all the way to the beach. And what a beautiful and tranquil part of the Panglao beach it is. Service is great, we also enjoyed the food, it‘s been a wonderful experience!

From pick-up to drop-off, Amarela never failed to impress. During our trip to the Philippines, my friends and I visited three different islands and stayed in four different hotels, but Amarela stood out as the most comfortable and personal of them all.

The architecture and decor were beautifully local and tasteful, adding to the unique charm of the place.

The staff at Amarela is exceptional! The food at their restaurant was incredible! We couldn’t stop eating during our four-day stay because we wanted to try everything.

I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a more personal and authentic experience when visiting Bohol.

A really good place for rest and relaxation. The entire resort has a very homey feel. You will not even notice that it was actually fully booked. The resort is not cramped and crowded. I truly appreciate the chirping of the birds and the sound of the waves. The staff are also very warm, kind, courteous and attentive to the needs of the guests. We had most, if not all, of our meals in their restaurant and we are truly satisfied. Their food is great, in terms of taste and portion. We will definitely come back!

Room tip: senior citizens and persons with mobility issues or those with disabilities will have some difficulties going to the beach and pool area.

"When in Bohol, why would anyone stay anywhere else?" --A longtime Bohol home owner and top cultural government official

I've stayed twice and agree with. My foreign guests lived it too. They skipped some tours to spend more time at the resort.

Stayed here through new years.

Hotel is quite nice and very clean. Staff are super and the pool is nice,

beach is overrun with dogs.

They served a red wine for new years that was like vinegar - they charge 2*price for bikes as directly renting. I will never understand trying to make quick money in such a primitive fashion.

Maby this hotel was in The 1980 the place to be but really not anymore.
We stayed for 3 nights and every day I wish that I was home not here.
Food and mostly of the employees are not good.
The internet was not 1 days good working!
We stayed in the best most expensive room and still it was smelling like all the people who stayed before the linnen was smelling and the bathroom was smelling like …..fill in by yourself
