“Fun beach”
Reviewed June 21, 2015 via mobile

Lots of activity along the beach. Most of it is restaurant. Advisable to stay at night time. Enjoy the beach and bar. Really great

“Best place to be in Bohol”
Reviewed June 20, 2015

A lot of resorts that would cater to your budget, be it high end or low end. A lot of restaurants and bars. Everything you need is available like ATM machines, mini mart, salon and spa, restaurants, bakeries, liquor store, coffee shop, fruit shake stands, etc. Best place!

“Beautiful beach but rocky in some places”
Reviewed June 18, 2015

The blue waters and the sand are lovely, but we went there after the big earthquake so some parts were rocky due to probably ocean floor movement. Still it's a nice place to hang out especially in the mornings and afternoons. There are already many restaurants along the beach, so some parts have tables and chairs for diners. Compared to White Beach, Boracay, I think Alona still has a longer space between the beach and the establishments. Try dining al fresco any time of the day, the view is beautiful. We ate beachside for breakfast and dinner.

From the main road, it's just a short walk. If you're staying in Panglao but not at a beachfront hotel, you can easily go to Alona by motorcycle.

“Nice but super touristy ”
Reviewed June 16, 2015 via mobile

Alona beach is the tourist centre of Pangloa. Its a small sandy strip fronted by hotels, bars and restaurants.

The beach itself is nothing amazing, its very narrow at high tide and is often packed with tables and chairs of the restaurants right down to the water line.

The beach front bars and restaurants are a great at night for a meal and a few drinks in a relaxed and scenic setting.

The only negative to this spot is the number of locals constantly trying to sell whale shark watching cruises. It gets annoying bery quickly and in our 3 weeks traveling the phillippines was the only place we encountered this level of harrasment.

Otherwise its a nice enough tourist spot for drinks, meals, accomodation and as jumping of point for.diving.and snorkelling trips

“Good to visit Once”
Reviewed June 16, 2015

Not as big as I thought - small seaside village feel with some restaurants and bars and a very nice beach with some sections better for swimming than others. Try the creamy ice cream from the Bee Farm Cafe and always order fresh buko (coconut) with meals :)
