It's amazing how one character (Kitaro) can transform a street and city into international fame. This road is lined with strange and weird characters related to Kitaro and presents a lot of photographic opportunities for both young and old. Especially if you're lucky enough to be there during the blooming of the cherry blossom. There are also many souvenir novelty shops, bakeries, snack joints and restaurants for everyone...

It is really interesting to have seen this road. The road is all about 妖怪 and kitaro and its author. Good that it helps to rejuvenate the otherwise dead town. Nice museums to visit and new concept shops since they are not seen anywhere else in Japan. If you are in the region, this is a good stopover. Come before sunset.

A very nice place to spend your day with. You will see lots of Gegege Kitaro's character statue everywhere! If you are lucky, you may see some character walking around! Some restaurants closes before 2pm for lunch. Make sure you find food first

The street from the station to the end of the shops is awash with bronze statues, park lights, toilet signs and more; all homages to the manga/anime work of the cultural icon after whom the street is named. People in character costumes also walk the town. Such is the affection for the characters of the Kitaro stories. He is a good demon boy, born in a graveyard who fights bad demons in stories told in the genre of the TV show "The Addams Family". Research the characters and then see which ones you can find when you get here. "Daddy Eyeball" is everywhere.

A promenade in memory of famous Japanese anime expert Mizuki Shigeru. More than 100 statues of monsters appeared in his animations are made on this road with a lot of stores selling souvenirs related to the animations. There is also a stamp collecting event to redeem for limited edition souvenirs.
