“Beautiful and peaceful shrine”
Review of Kashihara Jingu

Kashihara Jingu
Reviewed 8 February 2016

This shrine is fairly quiet, not many people seem to visit here during the week. I saw the staff raking the stone garden. The place has a strong air of peace and serenity, but I think a lot of it is only opened to the public on special days.

Kashihara shrine is located in the forest sanctuary in Mount Unebi (one of the three Yamato mountains).
The capmus of the shrine is spacious and has cute paths through the forest.

This shine was build relatively recently before the WW II but seems highly respected by the Japanese because it is devoted to the Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan. The inside was very nice and spacious. But why rated 4. It is because there are too many eating shops inside of the shrine. Such fried chicken shops will not make the emperor happy ! I hope that this arrangement is only aiming at the large visitors for the new year's day.

The most peaceful time was spent here. Go in to the grounds at 6:00. Hear the gong and watch all the locals come together to do their Tai Chi.
