“Delightful Delicious Dining”

The Exchange Tea Parlour & Bistro
Ranked #7 of 66 Restaurants in March
Description: Join us at The Exchange, an eating and meeting place with three concepts: during the daytime the downstairs Tea Parlour offers a menu for a quick coffee and cake or a full sumptuous afternoon tea. In the evening this space transforms into it’s alter ego, a sophisticated space offering a tempting wine and cocktail list and accompanying nibbles including a cheese selection or tapas. Upstairs, the Bistro Restaurant has a comprehensive menu showcasing locally sourced fresh seasonal produce.

Upon looking at the menu, we were instantly drawn in by the VEGAN choices they offered. Not only did they have 2 main options, but they also offered 2 desert options as well!
We started our evening with two cocktails in the bar (Pino Colada and a Hurricane). Then were shown to our table.
As we looked over the menu, we we offered a complimentary bread basket - beautiful soft, warm olive bread.
For mains, we chose Poached Haddock with a cheese sauce served with vegetable and gorgeous sautéed garlic potatoes. The vegan option I chose was Mushroom Risotto which was packed with mushrooms. Both portions were very generous sizes - we couldn't finish either!
For pudding we shared the Chocolate Tart (vegan) which had hazelnuts and a beautiful Oreo crumb base. Utterly divine!

The service was attentive, friendly and polite and were very conscious of Vegan needs. It was an extremely pleasant evening and we would go back there in a heartbeat to try the other options they had to offer!

The perfect place for anyone with intolerances or dietary needs. Everything was clearly labelled and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients.
5 stars!!

Visited in August on a Friday lunchtime - looking for a light lunch. I have Coeliac Disease, so it is always a challenge finding somewhere that understands the issues around cross contamination, the Tea Parlour did not disappoint.

We were met on arrival and offered our choice of seating, presented with menus and left in peace for a few minutes.

When the waitress returned, I had a few questions around the food available for me, all of which were answered well.

They offered a good range of lunch dishes, many of which were adaptable to suit me. I chose the Eggs Benedict, adapted to suit me - it was delicious; the only downside was, the eggs were not overly hot.

Service was good, prices mid-range; toilets were clean and stocked.

A charming tea shop that changes into a lively bistro in the evening. What more could anyone want? The food is delectable, the service friendly and the teas and coffee if you prefer and wonderful. Help and advice available to help you choose.

We thought we would try on a Friday evening as a couple and was totally disappointed. No atmosphere and the food was bland with no taste. If you like nice quality food don't waste your money here.

Visited here for dinner with friends, it's a nice place but nothing that special, staff were polite but the food was a let down, over cooked and overpriced we was expecting better.
