This hotel is in a prime location set apart from the main centre of Telendos . It is a steep climb up dangerous broken and uneven steps. This is bad enough in the day but at night it is unlit and frankly treacherous.
We stayed in a studio , basic accomodation, only one cup in the cupboard and no kettle. The place did not feel clean. Bathroom exceptionnally basic and needs a complete overhaul. So many hazards around the building and it felt you were staying on a uilding site!
We left after one night

Any review of anywhere on Telendos is a reflection of the island itself. This is one of the most amazing places for a getaway holiday - no roads, so no cars (apart from the three wheeler cart that collects the rubbish) Life is slow and laid-back.Day-time can be busy(ish) with day trippers over by water taxi from Kalymnos and it is a popular climbing destination.
Hotel Porto Potha has a terrific location, being some 100m up the lower hillside with clear views over the inlet between it and Kalymnos, however this means that access is not easy - there are a fair number of steps and steep paths to climb. We stayed in a studio which is part of a seperate block a little detached from and above the main hotel, these rooms are reasonably sized and feel a little more private. The rooms are comfortable and cleaning is regular and thorough but the fixtures and fittings feel a little tired. There is a feeling that the owners are struggling to keep up with maintenance. This is a family run hotel and various family members pop-up occasionaly to help out, which gives an intimate feeling to the place. Many guests are regular returnees and there is an eclectic mix (not many places where you can have a long discussion on Finnish/Russian relations compared to UK/EU relations!) This is a glorious place to get away from it all as long as you do not mind some shortcomings, and the hike up the hill each night after dinner.

The perfect getaway for a nice relaxing week. The perfect place for couples (and singles) to chill out and forget about their worries for a few days. Situated a few hundred meters outside the tiny village, the hotel is not affected by the day tourists that visit Telendos. It is also the only hotel (I think) with its own pool, salt-water, which is perfect for the late evening and early morning swims as well as lying around during the afternoon siesta. Rooms are simple but suffice. We stayed for a week for sun and snorkelling and will be returning next year.

Perfect little hotel overlooking the ocean and Kalymnos. The rooms are simple - the bathroom somewhat dark. But the place is nice, peaceful and clean. The owners was very helpful whenever we had a question.

Just returned from our island hopping trip which included 3 nights at this hotel in a mountain facing room, although as we were Room 12 at the left hand side, we also had a clear view of the sea. This is a lovely family run hotel. Yes there are some issues with work ongoing in the grounds as people have posted, but to give them credit I think they work on this once the hotel closes in October. But to be honest, because you are on Telendos, admiring the view to Kalymnos it doesn't bother you, and it's probably a more pleasant environment without construction going on around you. The breakfast is good, but limited flexibility to substitute things - the fixed menu is egg, cheese and toast. Anything different (yoghurt, fruit etc) you need to pay for. The rooms are clean, air con swing setting in our room didn't work but we didn't let it bother us too much. We had a lovely and relaxing three days, Rita's definitely the place for watching people coming and going, and the family there is lovely. Would love to return one day.
