My wife and I flew from IAH to LHR on UA 880 and returned a week later on UA 879. We flew in Polaris Business Class and were very pleased with the friendly personnel, the entertainment system, and the food and beverage service. Flight attendants on both flights were British, at least in Business Class. The flight to LHR arrived on time and the flight to IAH arrive a half an hour early. In addition to the flights, we were pleased with the Polaris Lounge at IAH and the United Club at LHR. We would not hesitate to book these flights again.

Pretty good space between seats. Good inflight entertainment.

Food on United is really bad. They really need to improve this. Also the tiny little pillows and paper towel blankets they give you from the 1980s gotta go. Staff seemed a little disaffected. Not as friendly as a lot of airlines I flew on this trip.

Polaris is an expensive way to travel,you expect pampering. As a point I've flown business/first - qatar, turkish, Etihad, BA, and Air France. So I have some form of comparison. The plane itself was fine 777-ER, not as comfortable as the middle eastern airline but good. It was the soft product that was really poor:
Pros: nice laydown seats (to be expected really)
* cute therabody amenity kit comes in a fanny bag
* Polaris lounges are nice - great food selection and comfortable chairs
* direct service

Cons
* service (certainly this is hit or miss) for me it was a big miss - never a smile from our FA, very gruff, like she hated her job - at this level and cost that's inexcusable, it's service that sets the tone of the experience. I could hear her saying to another FA she'd been at it 29 years - you'd think you'd be good after that long but God she was awful and rude.
* food - again, at this price point you expect superlative quality food, this isn't some backwater airline - first world complaining yes, but again, at these price points the quality and presentation of the food was what I'd expect for economy except we got real plates...

Honestly, I would rather fly a different airline and connect through than do that again. I felt cheated of what a first class experience should be

We were on our way to the gate, we were supposed to be at, after waiting prior at the gate.
We got an announcement saying the gate has change. No problem. It was across the airport.
As everyone boarded on to the fight, we had problems finding storage for our carry-ons.
Flight was decent.
But after we had problems getting our luggage’s.
They said our luggage would be at #10, everyone waited there for 30 mins. Nothing came out, so then they said it’s going to be at #9.
70% of the people got their bags but the others waited 1.5 hours still haven’t got their bags.
Since the ones that didn’t get it, they said the bags were another flight so we have to wait 2 more hours.
A few people were suggested to pick it up tomorrow.
Ridiculous , everyone is mad about it since we were waiting for about 2-3 hours.
United Airlines….

Zero out of 10 will never give this company a dime ever again. If you can crawl thru lava rather than fly with United do it. So horrible
