My experience with United is simply my worst experience with any airline company so far. I travelled from MSN to LAX via DEN in June 2021, both on first class.
On my first segment, I was given a broken first class seat which could not recline nor use my tray table. I was told about this issue after I sat down on my seat (see the attached picture). The flight attendant told me, either I moved to Economy or stayed on my broken first class seat. This is simply one of the least professional act I have ever had with any company.
During my segment from DEN to LAX, I was given an expired sparkling wine (see the attached image, it EXPIRED 1.5 YEARS AGO!). The flight attendant did not apologize at first and simply asked me for another drink. This means, all passengers need to check their consumables or United can kill you with their expired consumables!
Next, the ground staff in MSN lied to me that United can't transfer my luggage all the way to my final destination from 2 different tickets although they are both Star Alliance flights. This turned out to be a lie since a United representative in DEN told me that they should have been able to do it after seeing my ticket.
I paid almost $800 for a one way trip from MSN to LAX and United 1) Lied to me, 2) Gave me a broken first class seat, and 3) Gave me expired sparkling wine.
I sent a review to a United representative, and here is the answer:
"I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your flight.
We want to be your airline of choice, and our efforts to improve our service are ongoing. Feedback like yours helps us focus our attention where it's needed most with particular attention to providing consistent information across our stations. I appreciate you taking the time to share this with us.
We hope to provide you with a better experience on your next trip."
After all of these experiences, they ask me to choose United as "your airline of choice". This company is full of joke and I recommend to be careful with United or they likely to lie to you and (may) kill you in the future with expired consumables.
