The staff are lovely, but the entertainment is terribly old and dated nothing new at all, like watching repeats on television, quite disappointing. They also turned it off 45minutes before landing. The food is very poor, so much so I took a sandwich with me, never had to do that before with any other airline, awful on a 7 hour flight.

This flight was attractive to us departing from Edinburgh via Abu Dhabi for a 2hour stop over before continuing to Melbourne.Flight left on time comfortable seating with pillow and blanket tv screen.Meals and snacks served throughout the flight and not being a fan of airline food going long distance you don't have much choice.Also water served regularly which was great to keep dehydration at bay.On our flight a young girl was very sick and we thought the crew were very attentive and arranged for the family to disembark first to attend a doctor waiting in Abu Dhabi.

This was a return trip to UK following s weeks holiday. I was not able to check in online, self service check in machines were not working, so had to use check in desk where the lady said my luggage had to go in the gold as it was too heavy. On the plane it was clear other passengers had bigger & heavier luggage.
When I boarded a French woman was in my aisle seat, which I had specifically booked. When J asked her to move she got abusive & reused. The steward asked me for my boarding card not hers, and after sobs arguing I moved to an empty seat in another row just for peace and quiet.
Flight was ok, but not great, not great legroom and film offerings were poor.
Etihad are not a good airline.

I am a regular traveller to Ireland and I vary my airline between Etihad and Emirates.There is at the end of the day not much difference between them.Etihad now flys into Terminal 1 in Dublin as opposed to Terminal 2 for Emirates.Teminal 2 for departure is much better.In weighing up my decision as to who to fly with I do it from the point of view as a smoker.Abu Dhabi is a better airport for smokers logistically and Terminal 1 in Dublin also has a smokers area.The one big contrast between the airlines is the food Emirates wins hands down for that.The breakfast so called from Etihad prior to landing in Sydney was a disgrace (a sweet tart) upon questioning this and asking what happened the humble sausage or a bit of egg I was told the sweet tart also catered for vegetarians (crap).Anyway happy flying and remember,queing at check in or delays at security checks or crying babies it is all part of the flying experience so don't stress because you cant change it so there is no point in freaking out.

Have travelled with Etihad many times before. The overall experience is good. Very efficient, good food and lovely people. In business class the flat beds make all the difference to your flight. I'm too old now to be cramped and tired and believe the cost of business class is important in my holiday.
