I travelled to Newark recently with my daughter for a few days in New York. The flight with American Airlines was excellent. The service really was unbeatable and I would highly recommend them as an airline. They couldn’t do enough to help
American Airlines is the most horrendous airlines to fly with. I booked a package deal to San Francisco three months in advance of my departure. I received a confirmation that I was booked for my flights, lodging, and Car rental. So I said great looks like everything is on target. I had booked a round trip flight through American Airlines. I was scheduled to leave PHL at 8:05 in the morning.
A few days later, I received an email that the departure time changed from 8:05 -8:28 and the gate number had changed. I was ok with that as it would not impact my other bookings. I continually reviewed the flight status of my flights right up to the night before my first flight. Then the night mare took place.
I received a text message from AA at 11:45 PM on 9-16, that my flight scheduled for 8:05 on 9-17 was cancelled. Now I am in panic mode. So I call AA CS to see if they can help me find the next available . They were of very little assistance. The original purchase needed to be credited. The new flight had to be repurchased. along with a guaranteed seat assignment. What a nightmare.
After that situation I went on their website. I found a flight that would work. There were only 12 seats left. so I booked that flight and selected a assigned seat. I immediately checked in to assure I would make that flight.
Thank goodness I was vigilant when this happened. It took over three hours to make sure that my plan would happen. I do not recommend American Airlines.
We had to travel home with American Airlines due to BA strike. I would like to say EasyJet has more room than this flight. We were in the middle of four. Knees touching seat in front, when tray downright into your body. The chap next to me had longer legs and boy did he struggle he wished he had paid the extra €106 for extra legroom. Couldn't move as seatspace also very tight.
The cabin crew, where do I start.... Not very courteous at all. My partners screen went off about 3 hrs from landing. Spoke to cabin crew, she said it would have to reboot it, would take a while.... 2 hrs later still no screen. Another flight member came past and he mentioned it to her, just fobbed off. All in all he was ststi gk to spa e for quite a while.
You would think an America company who strive to be the best would have a better attitude.
Very disappointed
The flight to ATL was ok. But the return flight was blah. There was no
in-flight movie. I find that unacceptable for a lengthy flight. I fly with them because of the price and arrival times. Guess you get what you pay for.
