“Great flight, but lost jewelry”
Review of American Airlines

Reviewed 1 February 2018

Great flight to Baton Rouge with layover at Charlotte NC and on to New Orleans for my daughter's wedding. First time for me to fly alone. Left Myrtle Beach November 2 and returned to Myrtle Beach November 4, 2017. When getting on plane in Baton Rouge I tipped my carry on bag to stow overhead and shampoo, hairspray, small purse with jewelry and perfume all fell out. People helped me pick up items and put back into bag, but did not realize the jewelry bag was missing until I returned home. I filed a missing items report, but never heard another word from the airlines. Lesson learned!

Everyone knows how flying is. The long wait at the airports, the long lines for TSA, the over priced food, the small seats on the plane, the screaming kids, the rude people and so on......
This particular flight was worse. I usually expect the attendants to be smiling and half way nice, not this time. They were rude, paid no attention to my needs and only took care of first class. During the 3 3/4 hour flight I only received one small glass of water. They would come by and even though I would ask for a refill they would not come back with any. I would hit the button and they would walk by and turn it off not stopping.
Another thing is, they charge for a check bag and too many people carry on more bags than they need. There was no room in the overhead storage and I got in trouble for holding a bag. I told them it was full but they acted like I was a felon.

American Airlines is consistently overbooked with uncaring staff and unreasonably cramped passenger space. From the check in agents to the flight attendants to the customer service personnel, this organization cares about profit over all else. Gone are the days of enjoyable air travel on American Airlines.

The 787 Dreamliner plane is really nice and staff were very helpful. We are a large family and the airline was very accommodating.

Everything about this flight was excellent. The short, quick and courteous check in at Heathrow, the lounge access before the flight at Heathrow (included in the Business Class ticket), and again in Chicago, the fast pass to speed through customs and immigration in Chicago all nice perks that made the experience great. And the flight itself was just great. The seating configuration in Business Class was very well planned, with comfort, convenience and privacy in mind. On other airlines in Business Class I have sat in a weird seat configuration that was hard to get into and stared into the face of another passenger for a 13 hour flight. On American this was not the case. Everything, the full size fluffy pillows, the warm quilts, Bose headphones, little travel amenities kit the always available snacks in the galleys everything was wonderful. The meal choices were excellent. Just the right options from gourmet to excellent comfort and familiar dishes. Even the aircraft just sparkled, it seemed like a brand new aircraft, clean and quiet. The crew were just right, too. They were attentive, helpful and courteous. Business Class May be expensive, but for a long overseas flight, on American it was worth the splurge.
