Everything was flawless. The attendant at check-in in Portland was very helpful and solved a ticketing problem very quickly. Take-off on time; arrival on time; baggage arrived in Phoenix with me. All was good!

I had one very terrible experience with AS a couple months back, where I was flying to LA for a surprise party and AS delayed the flight by two days including a 15 hour layover in San Jose (was originally direct). I chalked it up to a one time problem and continued to book AS when it was cheapest.

Yesterday my girlfriend and I flew back to New York from San Francisco. We couldn't select seats. Not online or at the airport or even at the gate, until 10 minutes AFTER the original boarding time. Then we get on the plane and there are no seatback TV's. No holder for your phone. You are stuck holding your phone if you want to watch anything. We then sit on the plane for 90 minutes without any announcements or notifications.

Once in the air, when the food cart came by, EVERYTHING other than cheese was already gone. I was sitting in row 9 of 33. I just don't understand how they don't update their planes or their systems. I see online that Alaska is up there with the top customer satisfaction airlines and I just don't see how that is possible.

Final note - the bathroom had an ashtray on the door with a smoking sign.

Always Alaska ! Comfortable new plane and great service ! On board food is great along with comfortable seats.

Since the Virgin America aquisition the service has gone completely downhill. For God's sake they can't even do a direct flight from Detroit to LAX? Virgin was such an amazing airline and Alaska has RUINED it. Lost luggage, cancelled flights, maintenance delays. They are 0 for 3 since 2018.

Truly pathetic

Paid for Economy Plus. Good thing, as the seat pitch was about the same as most airline's regular economy. There couldn't have been more than 32-33", it was horrible. Uncomfortable seats, average atmosphere for a Hawaii trip...actually could have been going anywhere. Wouldn't recommend.
