Pros - beautifully appointed ship, attentive friendly hardworking staff, room service, specialty restaurants, library, thermal spa, very few ship announcements, in room entertainment, Guest Services are knowledgeable and act quickly.
Cons- book packages and trips before you travel as they are cheaper around 15%, very American food in Lido Market and Dining Room, daily news letter has no information other than the timing of the days activities, limited activities and most not suitable for disabled passengers, too many bars, limited time slots for open dining.

Overall a lovely trip but do your research before you go as their website does not cover everything.

Just got off - just unbelievable poor leadership and lack of empathy. Although 4 Star Mariners the experience was abominable

We ate at Nami Sushi. It was wonderful. The service was great, but the food was extraordinary. The ship is nice and new. The entertainment was nice also, especially Lincoln Center. The Vista Suite cabin is more than adequate and laid out in a smart fashion with the living area at the entry and the bed near the balcony. We cruise on smaller ships, generally. But the layout of the ship made it so one never felt as if there were 2000 other pasengers.

After almost 3 years of rescheduling and cancellations, we finally took our Norway cruise. This was onboard the newest ship of the HAL fleet, the seventh version of the Rotterdam. Crew, especially those in Club Orange were fantastic. Food was very delicious each breakfast and dinner, and the ship is tastefully decorated. Activities don't compare to mass market family lines, but Rolling Stone Rock Room and BB King music venues delivered quality music entertainment. Embarkation and Disembarkation processes went pretty smoothly. Balcony on deck 5 offered terrific wake-up views of the fjords, glad we upgraded from the obstructed view ones. We were blessed with nice weather on 6 of the 7 days, so the pool had good use.

The ship is new, that's always good. If you are looking for disco until 2 AM then Holland America is probably not your cruise line. However, the main stage entertainment was fine, and we particularly enjoy the Lincoln Center Stage performances. If you are on this ship, go to the Half Moon Bar and get yourself a "Rotterdam VII", they are amazing. If you are really fortunate, then Paola Mae will be mixing it.
