I can understand why their stock price has tanked.
From the airport transfer and back the experience was so disappointing.

The team that was doing the airport pickup was late, leaving hundreds of guests feeling stranded. The customer service number told us to go to a different terminal, incorrectly. The bus driver didn’t know where they were going and missed the terminal, then had to circle it twice. There were no signs for baggage drop off, the porters were not any help.

Once on the ship the rooms were not ready and the restaurant, The Local, was completely understaffed and really slow. It took over an hour for two salads and two cocktails.

Our balcony spa suite was not vacuumed and the glasses were dirty, but our luggage arrived, so that was a highlight.

The spa was very loud with young adults allowed to horse around, even with “quiet area” signs and admonishment from staff.

The dining:
The Local- self seating was difficult to get, the staff had to be flagged down or they would just walk by repeatedly and not make eye contact

Tempenyaki (the Japanese flair restaurant) - we waited over an hour for the chef to appear, no starters, the waiters just stood around looking confused. No apologies from the management and the food was adequate at best

Le Bistró- good food and service, almost worth the price

Cagneys- excellent experience, great steak, fantastic staff

Ocean Bliss- great service and excellent food. I would return.

The Atrium- absolutely no service, always overly crowded and felt like a college bar

Starbucks- incredible staff, the whole shop could take lessons.

The big downside of a balcony suite was the guest that smoked pot and cigarette’s multiple times a day and night, every single night. There wasn’t a time I could even enjoy my balcony without being flooded with second hand smoke. I called guest services, but the problem was never resolved.

Also, our bus driver in PV ran over a moped and it’s driver, they were ok, but it was not a great end to the tour.

Guest services did nothing about the poor experiences, they simply don’t concern themselves with the ship experience.

Important things to know:

If you buy the beverage package you must get water from the bar, not the mini bar. (There is only water in the mini bar) Housekeeping charges for the water and the restocking fees. I’m sure it’s somewhere in the fine print, but it’s not obvious.

You cannot stack your cruise next vouchers, they are not as good as cash

You can do anything you want in your room, including illegal substances, as long as you have do not disturb on.

Kids are everywhere, none of the “adult only” area rules are enforced.

Every event is overly crowded and too warm to be enjoyable.

The buffet was good, Pay attention to open hours and time changes.

Also, you aren’t expected to return, so that may contribute to the lax service

This was our 5th NCL cruise (first on the Bliss). My husband and I loved it. The crew work so very hard and are so nice & professional. The accommodations were wonderful. We stayed in the Haven (a small ship within a ship) that included a 2 story indoor pool area, private outdoor deck with hot tubs, and the Haven restaurant, where we dined exclusively. I am on a low sodium diet, and the chef prepared low sodium versions of the regular meals for me each and every day of the 15 day cruise. They were delicious. The observation lounge was large and had beautiful views. Our Panama Canal day was beyond spectacular, It started at 4:30 AM in the Pacific Ocean and ended up in the Caribbean at 3:30 PM. The entertainment on board was good - lots of options. We loved the Mandara Spa - so relaxing. But the best part of the cruise was the many wonderful people we met. People were so friendly and it was easy to strike up a conversation. I guess if you go on a cruise with a positive attitude, you find yourself near other positive people. From other guests we have talked to, I would recommend booking your own flights to and from the cruise port (not go thru NCL). We met so many people who thoroughly enjoy sailing with NCL. We are looking forward to our next NCL cruise as well.

We were a family of 10 traveling with the Norwegian Bliss to western Caribbean (Honduras, Belize, Cozumel and Costa Maya) during the first week of January. It was a partly nice experience. The ship was really nice compared to the ships that cruises across the Baltic Sea and the North Sea in Europe. The staterooms were nicely decorated, clean and well kept. The beds were really comfortable. The staff in the restaurants and the cleaners were all very friendly and helpful. There were several a la carte restaurants and a buffet restaurant. The food was much better than expected. There were many onboard activities to choose between. Even though the ship carried 4000 passengers it didn't feel crowded (except around the pool which was way to small). It was also a terrible experience. A ship is the perfect setting for epidemics. Beware! Remember the beginning of the covid pandemic where cruise ships were in quarantine for months. It isn't over yet! 4 of us got stomach flu and 2 got covid onboard. There was a lot of talk about stomach flu among the passengers onboard but the management didn't seem to do anything about it. They were probably worried about bad publicly... I wouldn't recommend a cruise with Norwegian if you are old or fragile. Also, there are lots of hidden costs. You have to pay for water bottles. There is a 16 dollars per person and day service fee. Only 2 persons per stateroom can have the free at sea package, so if you are traveling with children you have to pay the a la carte fee at the speciality restaurants for them and you have to pay over 80 dollars per child for a soda package. The shore excursions are overprized and some of the ports are tourist traps (especially Costa Maya). I recommend taking a cab to the beaches on the other side of the Roatan island. In Cozumel there is a 15 minutes walk to Sunset beach where you can get access to the beach/sunbeds/a table and chairs in the shade if you buy food and drinks in one of the restaurants. The snorkeling at sunset beach is excellent. In Costa Maya an organized tour may be the best option to get away from the port, but the nice tours are booked early.

November 28, departing San Pedro on the Bliss was a disaster. The lines to board the ship was approximately 1.5 hours long. Once on board I was informed that the ship's crew had dumped my luggage overboard. Once the crew retrieved my luggage from the ocean, I met with ship's personnel to inventory my lost and damaged items. I had purchased insurance with AON Affinity (Travel Protection) recommended by Norwegian. I contacted the travel insurance company upon returning to the states. I've sent them the requested information five times via email..I've spoken to them on the phone six times with no results. I keep gettilng the same run around each and every time I call. It has been over six weeks with no results from the cruise line or AON. The total amount owed me is $1500 for lost and damaged personal items. I would not recommend the travel insurance or Norwegian.

Travelled solo in an inside cabin. Had been on RCL 2 weeks before, in the Eastern Carribian, on Oasis of the Seas. Jumped on this one, Western Carribean, ports of call Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel. Norwegian Bliss is of a similar size than RCL's Oasis class, but clearly made for colder waters than the Carribean. Ship feels enclosed, a bit dark, and gloomy, compared with RCL Oasis class ships, who are more airy, got more space, etc. Inside cabin was OK, with a helpful live camera/TV showing the outside, giving you a feeling of not beeing so enclosed. Casino was a let down. Not open when ship is in port, and few tables. Only 1 poker table. And 1 roulette in the smoke-free section. RCL have way bigger casino, but a good thing with Norwegian is that the smoking section is very separated from the non-smoking. Lot's of slot machines which probably are set to huge winning margins, for the cruise line... Observation deck on 15 was good, but the outside pool area, top deck, was too small for the number of pssengers on board. absolutely packed on the one decent weather sea day we had. Destination ports are mostly expensive tourist traps. Especially Costa Maya. Not the best weather on this trip, mostly cloudy, which put a small damper on things, but I can't fault the cruise line for the weather. Food was OK, but nothing more than that. Did not try the clearly overprized Spa and other treatments. Very attentuative and pleasant staff, always smiling, and doing their best. I will chose RCL the next time I cruise. Much more airy ships, feels less crowded, and the internet actually works well on RCL. Not so on Norwegian. Very slow internet, even though you pay for the top packages with streaming, etc.

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon cruise with NCL to the Western Carribean. There was good and bad. Unfortunately, the bad was really inexcusable. I would like to provide a balanced review. The good...The majority of staff were very nice. House keeping services and food services are excellent. All were very kind and happy each day. They work hard and it shows. I also believe the cruise activities staff are very good. There were many different activities to do daily. The spa staff are wonderful as well. My husband and I did get the week long spa package and that was the best money we spent. We used the amenities every day. Lastly, the Jersey Boys is definitely worth seeing. We never had a chance to see Six but heard fantastic things about it as well. As for excursions, visiting the Mayan ruins was excellent. Our tour guide Jesus was extremely knowledgeable. The lagoon time after was so so. But overall, I would say we had a good time. The staff from the Snorkeling tour in Belize were excellent (JR, Wilmer, Trevor, Clayton, Saul, Romero, and Tatiana) . Our guide Clayton was so patient and informative. Now for the bad... The front desk staff and excursions management are terrible. We had a very bad experience at Playa Mia. When I tried to report it, I was told I would have to talk to the excursion manager. This manager did not take my concern seriously and certainly never got back to us as promised. What I reported to the manager is that I feared we may have been drugged while having a few drinks each during our beach day at Playa Mia. I reported we were never provided the food that was included in the excursion. My husband was struggling to walk and appeared disoriented. I lost feeling in my legs. Because of this, we arrived back to the bus drop off location 10 minutes late and ended up being left at the resort. We had to find our way back to the ship. No one tried to help us or even bothered to look for us. The manager of excursions looked at us like we were just drunk tourists instead of listening to the real issue. There is no safety back up for passenger welfare. For this reason, I would never again sail with Norweigan and would recommend no one else does as well. We paid an extraordinary amount of money to have a great honeymoon with lots of fun and believed as consumers, they cared for their passengers. That does not appear to be the case.
