Quy Nhon/Bai Xep after Typhoon Damrey

Hey everyone, need some advice about travelling to Quy Nhon/Bai Xep this Wednesday. Any news on damage, power outages etc? I have tried contacting Haven Guesthouse and no reply. I’m not bothered by rain/wet conditions as currently in Hoi An during pretty bad flooding. Don’t want to travel south if damage is worse than expected though.

We are now in Hue and planned to travel to Hoi An in 2 days - how is the situation there? Is it worth going and potentially help out with volunteering?

Just saw some pictures of a FB friend who lives in Quy Nhon. Rough seas and several ships/boats have washed ashore. However, since the post was in Vietnamese, I'm not sure if anything was mentioned about power or damage to buildings.

There is recent flooding in Hoi An this week, but they recover very fast as flooding is the norm there.

The weather has been fine for the past few days. There will probably be more rain on and off up until the end of January, but the big storms usually end with November.

I was in Quy Nhon last week. Not a trace of the storm. The northern part of the city was flooded though, as it rained buckets. We had to leave town to the south to double back up to catch the highway to go north.
