Money exchange in salou

Hi. We are coming out to Salou on 21/6/18. Can someone help about reputable money exchange shops. We will be bringing with us euros, because I've seen on here that the rate here is better than in Salou. Can you tell me where the exchange shops are though...just in case!!!!

Cheers.

Irene

Hello,

The best way to get Euros is always from a cash machine with a specialist card. The Halifax Clarity card is one of the best https:/…halifax , or alternatively the Revolut pre paid card https:/…prepaid-travel-cards

You then get the perfect exchange rate for very little, or no fees if you play it right

If using Halifax Clarity at a cash machine to make it free pay in funds before you go, nit that they like it as they are nit a deposit taking organisation.

My advice is take a specialist card and if starting to run low on money use the card to pay for purchases rather than go get more cash. When paying by card ALWAYS PAY IN EUROS if asked.

So what if i have not got a card and just want to walk in a shop and do the euro exchange..what sort of rate is it,

At the moment in UK shops it's between 1.09 to 1.11 ?

Well you are better starting by looking st the rate you are getting as you can get 1.12 to 1.13 either by post or at a number of places. Look at Martin Lewis moneysavingexpert site.

Sorry cannot answer your specific question but you are better to make the most of what you are intending to spend.

Even then cashing in pound notes there is not likely to be much better than just using even the worse U.K. cards, surely you’ve at least got a debit card? Just don’t make lots of small transactions as many will charge a transaction fee.

Yes have a debit card , but if your getting charged for taking it out of the cash machine or when you use it ,

It must make it round up to the local rate , Never used a pre pay card as wasn't sure where I could use them, so didn't want to put money on a card and not being able to to spend it.

Also if I do go for pre pay , how do you get any money back if left over when you get back home ?

Take a look at a revolut card. I don’t often recommend such cards, as for me I use my foreign use credit cards but understand they are not for all.

I think the revolut gives you up to £200 of free ATM cash per month. I also think you can transfer money into it by faster payment transfer from your U.K. bank account. So if you are taking as emergency then proving you have online banking then you can just transfer it in when you need it.

Whether you can get the card in time is another question, I understand with this one it’s not quite like ordering a new card from your bank, but I’d give it a go. I do think it’s just about the best of them. It’s rate is the closest to ‘the best’, others often don’t claim to be best but fee free but the rate is not so good.

I am considering getting one just for the small cash machine allowance.
