Help! Solo traveler staying for 1 day in Portland

Hello! Glad to have found this forum. I would like to ask for your help. I am coming from Vancouver BC on Nov 25 (550pm) and leaving Portland at 1130am on Nov 27. I would like to do some sightseeing (huhu I know too short a time). May you check if the itinerary below is okay? Any recommendation on where to eat? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Nov 25, evening - Check in at The Society Hotel, visit the iconic White Stag sign

Nov 26 - Multnomah Falls through Columbia Gorge Express (AM)

Mt. Tabor Park, Aerial Tram, walk around the city (PM)

Nov 27 (AM) - Stumptown Coffee, Waterfront Park

I would sub Mt Tabor for the Japanese Gardens, but it looks busy but do-able.

Do you like cocktails? Try the Teardrop Lounge in the Pearl District on your arrival night.

There are 100 places to eat -- you need to state a preference.

welcome

note, solo traveler here but mostly - so far - doing it outside of hte USA.

"....Any recommendation on where to eat?..."

do you have any food restrictions? do you have any food you want to try or favor? I do. I like my morning Mocha and if possible a nice fresh Croissant. No matter where. After that its all whats available or convenient.

how far will you be willing to go for that food? Here is a link to Willamette Weeks...

And if you want, there is a SEARCH feature on TA. There have been some trip reports where other tourist have reported on their food places.

since i live here and my work hours arent the best, i rarely go out to eat much anymore.

good luck

Remember it gets dark early in November in Portland, and adjust your pm itinerary accordingly. Mt. Tabor Park is not at all close to tram or walking around the city. I agree perhaps with the person who suggests the Japanese garden instead of Mt. Tabor. It also just seems like too much in the pm. But, maybe that's me. (I hate rushing around in a new city.)

some other hints... this is what i do on my 1 month of travels.

> I head out to the furtherst most attraction and work my way back. That way if i have to cut and run, im hopefully closer not further away. And if i need to go back to continue the same.

You dont say how you will move about, but if you decide to use uber/lyft you maybe able to move around faster.

Dont forget it will be a weekday so, you may experience some "rush hour" traffic here and there.

good luck
