Hi,
Looking at Cooper spur resort for the thanksgiving break. Does it snow in that area during that time? First timer so all the help is appreciated. Thank you!
Short answer: absolutely! By Thanksgiving, we could have snow just about anywhere in Oregon, but especially at altitude. Predicting our weather, however, is not something anyone is very good at. Check a few days ahead and you might get better predictions.
Current predictions, which are usually pretty close,---snow in the Pacific Northwest --second week in November !!.. Have lived in this area for 10 years and these predictions are usually pretty close..
One thing to keep in mind – any place you might go during the winter season it is advised by Highway Patrol to carry chains. however, with rare exception, all rental companies prohibit using chains as could damage the vehicle. As a" local" person I have all weather tires and four-wheel-drive--
I wish you good luck in your endeavor – – Mt. Hood area is beautiful at any time of the year..
Carrying tire chains (or having snow tires) in a Snow Zone is not an advisory, its a requirement. Here is the law: https://tripcheck.com/Pages/Chain-Law However, some drivers don't follow the law and they can be denied continued travel at chain inspection spots.
