Booking Tours

Hi. We will be staying at the ABBWR. I understand there is an area there where one can book tours to see ruins or Cenotes... Is there an easy and less costly way to do this or should we just book through the resort? Interested in Coba, Tulum and Cenotes over two different days.

Also, for those who have been, is it worth skipping dinner (paid for already) at the resort and going up to PDC or down to Tulum for an evening? Also would you spend a day going to see Cozumel if you were not going to scuba dive? And likewise, is there one park you think is worth the time and money to spend one full day out of our seven at? Thanks so much for any ideas.

The ABBWR staff are great for booking tours

See what they have to offer and compare with the following info

1) Tulum Ruins: a colectivo on the other side of the hwy will get you to the Tulum Ruins in about 15+ minutes. Cost is 30 pesos pp - just took one yesterday.

Go early 8 am to beat the heat/crowds. Bring lots of water. The walk to the Ruin gates is 10-15 minutes but there is a trolly for 25+ pesos . Buy your Ruins entry at around 70 pesos, Take a taxi to one of the Tulum beach clubs after (www.alltulumhotels). Taxi home for 500+ pesos or get let off at the hwy and a colectivo back.

2) Coba Ruins and the famous cenotes. You can hire a taxi for the day for about 2000-2500 pesos. Again, go early , hire a 3 wheel bicycle tour guide - then visit the 3 underground cenotes - just google Coba cenotes.

Visit the honey farm on the way back - a full day.

Another fun cenote is in/past the town of Akumal (5 minute taxi or a 15 walk) to the mtg spot by Tequilaville - then they take you to the Santa Cruz cenote

or try one of the 3 animal rescue sanctuary - they are listed over on the right under top questions as well as info on these other attractions that I described to you
