When you get to Port Blandford, there’s an alternate route to connect to the 230 and to me, it’s a nicer way. From Port Blandford you turn onto route 233 and you’ll pass through Bunyans Cove, Musgravetown and Bloomfield, lovely scenic little towns. You will enter route 230 near Lethbridge and from there it’s about one hour to Bonavista. On route 230, are you stopping in Trinity? There’s a lot to see in Trinity. About 20 minutes beyond Trinity on route 239 is New Bonaventure, with the Random Passage site. http://www.randompassagesite.com/

Just past Port Rexton, there’s also Champneys West which I really like, and Port Union with its historic district which is around 20 minutes from Bonavista.

Any suggestions on a place to stop for lunch between the ferry and bonavista?

I’m not sure of your timing for the ferry, so where might you be around lunch time? If you don’t need to eat in Gander, what about the Chestnut Tree Cafe in Gambo? It’s about 90 minutes from the Farewell terminal and maybe 30 minutes from Gander.

Rosie's in Gander was recommended to us for our return trip from Gros Morne. Its a down home classic diner, good food, fun atmosphere.
