Any suggestions for a restaurant serving good lobster rolls
Lobster rolls aren't a thing here. When I think of lobster rolls I envision the east coast of the U.S.A., the Weathervane restaurant in Maine.
What month are you visiting? Areas of Newfoundland have a very short lobster season.
Edited: 5 years agoThey are definitely a thing in Nova Scotia ... but I don't ever recall seeing them on visits to Newfoundland.
You can also get them on PEI.
Agree with phpr and krp.
No lobster rolls, but check out this place in Twillingate for lobster dinners and seafood

@krp and Canuck Travlr, the OP is asking about lobster rolls in Bonavista Newfoundland.
@YYZtoYYTgrrl.
As a born and raised Maritimer, I fully understood what the OP was asking and I think krp did as well. We were both agreeing with phpr that we have never seen them in Newfoundland, but they are quite common in PEI and NS, in case the OP might also be visiting one of those provinces and would like to have a lobster roll. You only mentioned the US East Coast.
Most people who are not native to the Maritime or Atlantic provinces assume that there is a common cuisine in all the provinces. While there is much in common, there are definitely local differences.
They're called guedilles in Québec, but are closer to USA po'boys. Guedilles au homard, guedille au crabe, etc. They range from hot dog buns slathered in coleslaw & fries, to upscale ciabattas with balsamic and truffle oil.

New Brunswick (especially the eastern side) is also big on lobster rolls and lobster; just like Nova Scotia and PEI..
Edited: 5 years agoI guess I will be buying cooked lobster and making some.
3Ts Back Room Cafe in Woody Point/Gros Morne advertise lobster rolls, but they are not like the ones on a bun. They are deep fried. So if find any on the island make sure they are what you expect.
