Restaurant/curfew considerations with kids

We are staying at 1Hotel with our school age children over the Easter week. I’m less concerned about our time at the actual hotel (which is a little north of the party zone), but I’m wondering about some of the restaurants we’ve booked for dinner—getting there/back and comfort level with our children. We’ve scheduled Stiltsville, Ironsides Pizza, Mercato Della Pescheria and Rusty Pelican.

Should any of these be avoided in light of recent events? And recommendations for replacements maybe more mid-beach to Bal Harbour? Parents like seafood and the kids like Italian.

Thank you! We’re a little stressed and would love advice!

It depends on which days of the week at each restaurant, and what times.

First, please check this link for the official restrictions:

https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Declaration-of-State-of-Emergency-EO-2021-03-SBv2.docx.pdf

The restrictions apply Thursday to Sunday only, for the next couple of weekends. There are no restrictions Monday to Wednesdays (other than the ongoing covid related midnight curfew which applies every day).

Thursday to Sunday evenings until April 12, you can expect some restaurants to close early, at 8 pm. From your list, this may be only one, Mercato D. P. On Espanola way. If you go there Monday to Wednesday, then no problem, or check with them for exact times they’ll be open. Stiltsville not affected on any day.

Ironside and Rusty Pelican are off the beach so not impacted, but you could be affected by delays on the causeways returning home, if it’s after 10 pm Thu-Sun. Expect longish delays on the causeways after 10 pm. Ironside I suggest you skip (marginal neighborhood) and substitute with either Lucali, Spris or La Locanda (all on the beach and not affected by curfew). Rusty Pelican is hard to substitute but if you’re going Thu-Sun then return by 9 pm.

Overall no need to stress, plenty of good restaurant options on the beach, 1 is a very good hotel, and the crowd is already down from last week.
