Advice on potential hotel change

My wife and I have an upcoming hotel reservation on the edge of the entertainment district for the middle of May. Everyone seems to think things will have calmed down by then. We are considering looking at other hotels just to be safe. The 3 on our radar are The Confidant, Como Metropolitan, and Marriott Stanton.

We will be returning from the Keys arriving in Miami around mid-day and flying out of MIA the next day. We have never been to Miami Beach and thought we would like to stay there. All we want to do is have a nice lunch and dinner, do some kind of tour (double decker bus or boat tour), and walk on the beach the morning before our flight home. We will not have a car but will use Uber/Lyft/cab.

The 3 hotels we are looking at seem to be on the beach and out of the most hectic areas. Which one would be most appropriate for a middle-aged couple not looking for the party scene (we will be there mid-week and not on a weekend).? We would like to keep total $ under $450. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If by middle of May you mean before May 20, you need not worry about crowds.

The three hotels you list are all very good. You can’t really go wrong with any of them, but I’d favor them in this order, mainly based on location:

Marriott Stanton - good hotel in an excellent location, in the quieter, more upscale south pointe neighborhood, removed from the noisy parts yet very walkable to restaurants, parks and a great beach. Many rooms with balconies and ocean views.

Como and Confidante - also good hotels but less walkable locations (Como has better location between the two).

rk gave you great details. I would choose the Marriott Stanton based on you not being interested in the party scene/noise. The location is preferable too.
