Hello everyone,

i am planning to visit Asahikawa - Furano region from 21st - 24th June 2018, and i am coming from Shari Shiretoko.

Here's my questions :

1. is it better for me to base myself in Asahikawa instead of Furano?

2. How should i expect the lavender situation at Furano around 23rd June?

3. Please give me your input on the accommodations i have chosen

Below is my itinerary :

Take the 0930 bus and reach Shari Bus Terminal 1020, then take train to Asahikawa via Abashiri and reach Asahikawa 1619

If you go to Furano it's gonna be 1740.

check in at accommodation and rest early w/dinner

if weather is bad go to Furano instead

Asahikawa is indeed a good base to visit both Asahidake and Furano, especially if you have to rely on public transports.

Lavender is usually at prime in July. refer to the Furano calender.

In late June, visit the Tomita Farm where early blooming lavender is grown indoor.

refer to my visit in late June 2011.
