'Cool' Sedona Ideas

My friend and I are looking at going to Sedona in April and I am looking for a 'cool' or 'neat' area to stay in. Looking for recommendations on accommodations and ideas for spa, yoga studios, cafes, etc also. We are both mid-30s and active and looking for a week of fun, interesting activities plus R&R time. Will be doing lots of hiking also.

All of Sedona is cool. Don't fret about where you'll be sleeping. There are no hotel snobs in Sedona, except those who come to visit with that attitude. It's a small town. Nobody will care one way or the other about where you're staying.

Focus on specific activities. It's about what you think you want to do with your time. You're not going to be judged by anyone. It's not that kind of place.

Two beautiful areas around Sedona to stay in are near Bell Rock and the Village of Oak Creek or in the West Sedona area.

If you have money for a real romantic splurge, look into the famous Enchantment Resort. It is really beautifully located in a prime hiking and scenic area out Dry Creek Road just NW of West Sedona. It has its own spa with all the services imaginable plus, a great cafe, bar and dining room. Plus a golf club and many other services inclusive in that quality of Resort. At least look at their website to see what that area out there is like...very cool in my book.

Near Bell Rock, which is south of Sedona proper is the Bell Rock Hilton and its recently renovated Spa.

But Like RedRox mentions, there are many many hotels, motels and B&B accommodations in and around the very compact Sedona area. A cool thing to do when you first arrive is take the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow Tour...very very fun and informative...in a good way. That will get you familiar with the area right from the start. Also a good thing to do right from the start is to stop at a local visitor's center to pick up local maps, hiking guides and your parking permit.

Check out Sedona Rouge. It's in West Sedona and is within walking distance to several places. It's an upscale, boutique style small resort.
