One evening in Manila - where to visit?

I am arriving into Manila by myself about 6.30pm on a Friday night in February.

My friend doesnt arrive until midnight.

I am trying to work out if there is somewhere I can walk around or visit at that time of night and then hoping to base my hotel location based on that. I want to stay cheaply in a hotel ideally with airport transport but what area is best for me to walk around at night by myself...or is it not a good idea to walk around alone and should i be looking for a nicer hotel with a restaurant within?

Thank you

Makati is perfect for you. Stay around the Greenbelt/Glorietta Mall area. Several malls, restaurants bars etc and will feel very "westernised" You will feel very comfortable and very safe in this area.

My starting point would be the 4 star Holiday Inn which is attached to the Glorietta Mall in this area. In fact if you didn't want to venture outside you can walk straight into a busy mall from the hotel and wait for your friend. But trust me its a very safe area. Greenbelt 3 is a lovely area to spend time with gardens and a multitude of lovely restaurant and nightlife to choose from.

If you are looking for a more luxurious stay I can make some 5 star suggestions once you advise of your budget in PHP.

Aim Conference Centre across a busy road from Greenbelt 1 is around your budget.

Also try <<< https://alcoves.ph/ >>> that have several studio condos providing that they take 1 night bookings about a 5 minute walk away from Greenbelt 5.

Again both in safe areas.

go to airbnb.com for some good deals in the Makati area, there are many. Try near greenbelt Prince Plaza 2, Asian Mansion 2, and LPL Tower Condotel to name a few that requires only walking to get to places in Green belt etc.
