I stayed at the Costabella for a short stay a while back (pre Covid) and I enjoyed it. If memory serves the beach area was quite small and man-made and delving back into the memory banks there was not a lot of amenities adjacent to it. In common with a lot Filipino resort type hotels they offer day passes, which means it can get a busy (particulary at the weekends) with locals taking advantage of this offer - which often includes an all one can eat buffet and music.
