7 night catamaran charter. BVI, Bahamas or San Blas

Hello knowledgeable people and sailors out there. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 5 children looking for a fully crewed all inclusive catamaran charter in the Caribbean.

We need a safe place in which to relax, snorkel and not have to worry about no stress. Uniqueness and off the beaten path location is a must. We see too many people already in our daily lives. Large catamaran is preferable. Bucket list of locations to charter are the BVI and Bahamas. Any insight in this will be greatly appreciated.

We have been to these 3 locations mentioned and many more since we own a catamaran with Moorings currently on its 4th year of charter program. The BVI is a lovely place that has the best catamarans (ours included...) and it is great if you go with your friends, want to hang out at the bar in the evenings and so on. Bahamas is somewhat similar but sailing distances on this last location are not for us. We definitely need something easy. We visited San Blas this December and spent 10 days literally shocked day by day with the tropical exuberance and all the peculiarities of this archipelago of hundreds of islands and all the activities. Our kids had a blast. We chose http://www.catamaranadventures.net for our catamaran charter because we are spoiled and need A/C at least throughout the whole night.

Good Night, if you are look for a charter, The BVI is fantastic! Time of year is more important than location within The BVI if you are trying to avoid the crowds. You'll find the boat you are looking for there. Lots of charter boat companies to choose from. Voyage, BVI Yacht Charters, TMM, The Moorings/Sunsail, Waypoints, Horizon Yacht Charters. Our two favorites are BVIYC and Voyage. If you need a little more handholding in planning your vacation, work with a boat broker. Each company or broker will have a different price point for your charter.

There are lots of resources for planning what to do. To avoid the crowds, it does slow down in May, but the summer is slower overall compared to Christmas and Spring Break. Top spots to hit are The Baths and The Indians for Snorkeling. I did like snorkeling The Baths, but many people also like to just explore the boulders. If you really want to avoid the crowds from The Baths, go to Old Jerusalem Island instead. few people go there, but has similar boulders. Great snorkeling and amazing boating.

You can stop off at Cooper Island or Norman if you don't want to cook that night. Jost Van Dyke has THE MOST AMAZING white sand beach. Anchor in White Bay and swim to shore. Grab a Painkiller at The Soggy Dollar and spend a day on the beach.

The one thing that I would advise is if you fly into St. Thomas, use a water taxi to get to your charter, if you can swing it. With that many kids...its a little chaotic waiting at the ferry terminal. We've used several different companies, but our favorite is SeaHorse Water Taxi for BVI service. It made it super easy. They had a van waiting at the airport that took us to the marina where a boat was waiting. They checked us into customs in The BVI and dropped us off at our charter boat company. It was so easy! On the way out, they took care of customs and got us to our flight on time. Amy was great! She knows the islands and had great suggestions like hitting The French Bakery before casting off.

I recently sailed with Sailing Charter Panama, and I can't recommend them enough! If you’re thinking about exploring the San Blas Islands, they’re the perfect choice.

The experience was absolutely incredible—crystal-clear waters, stunning coral reefs, and some of the most beautiful, untouched beaches I’ve ever seen. The crew made the trip so enjoyable; they were super friendly and spoke fluent English, which made everything easy and comfortable.

The catamaran itself was spacious and luxurious, with air-conditioned cabins and even WiFi, so you could stay connected (if you wanted to!). The food onboard was another highlight—fresh seafood and gourmet meals every day, and they were happy to accommodate dietary requests.

What really stood out was how seamless the entire process was. They arranged our transport from the hotel, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was such a stress-free and unique way to experience Panama, and I’d definitely book with them again. If you’re looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation, this is it!

We finally decided to charter a catamaran with Catamaran Adventures San Blas and I can honestly say this has been a mind changing experience and an absolute success for all my family.

Chris, the manager made everything super easy from beginning to end. The catamaran, a Salina 48 named Mambo Diablo, was an absolute beauty with all the extras we could imagine including water scooters, kayaks, paddle boards, A/C and a big etc.

All that is fine and I guess there are more catamarans in San Blas that could be similar in a way or another but what set everything apart from other charters we have done was the attention to detail the warmth of the crew and the absolute attention to details and what each member of my family wanted.

A short while after San Blas, we headed over to the BVI to charter a catamaran and we were quite disappointed with all the crowds, noise and vibe. The BVI is probably just fine for most of the people, just do not visit San Blas first...

Catamaran Adventures is a 5 star company. Bigger players in the BVI cannot not even come near. At least for us.
