No see ums

guys - hadn't seen any new post on this over the last 10 years so was wondering if no see ups are prevalent at the end of April. I'm a hyper-allergic person so can't travel to those regions if they are prevalent. If it's just a few then I can apply a cream and get away with it

Thanks

I don’t know about San Blas Islands, but in Portobelo, Isla Grande and Bocas del Toro, the chitras can be nasty in April and May. Except when the wind blows. That keeps the chitras down.

Just got back from Isla Contadora … not a single mosquito or chitras . Not one! The breeze probably helped.
