The Golden Nugget got very lucky when the NJ legislature allowed sports betting there even though the owner Tilman Fertitta also owns the Houston Rockets of the NBA . Golden Nugget can not place any bets on NBA games .

There was an article in the Press of AC that said Golden Nugget would be barred from sports betting because of their team ownership. I thought just barring bets on NBA games would be reasonable but that is not what the article said.

Jerry 4 days ago they were talking about no sports betting at the GN then two days ago decided to allow sports betting with the caveat of no NBA bets allowed . We will wait and see what Murphy signs in to law.

That would be the logical thing, allow all but NBA bets. I hope that’s what happens.

Seems like the sports betting law is being held hostage for other concessions on the budget by the Governor. Typical NJ shooting itself in the foot.

Question, does anyone know if and how tier credits will be earned. Don’t know how it’s done in Vegas and if it will translate here.

My math might be a little off, but I think only clubs that control their own books in Nevada offer any kind of points/comps for sports bets.

CET (Total Rewards) runs their own book, and I think it was something like 1,000 TC (which also gets $10.00 in Reward Credits) for each $5K placed on the ponies. Pro Sports (not horse races) I believe earn less.

William Hill runs the MGM books, and MGM wont comp you on wagers placed with Hill. They just get a cut of the vig taken on bets placed. Last I heard you earn no points/comps at the book there.

When it comes to AC, if no one is giving comps/points in the Book out of the gate, I doubt someone will step up and actually offer anything for your action. I hope I'm wrong!
