My husband and I are planning to visit Croatia at the beginning of July (last minute planners!) and would like some advice on our itinerary.
Current plan is to fly into Split and stay for one night
3 or 4 nights on an island…but which one?
I’ve been to Hvar twice before and loved it, but this was around 8 years ago now when I was in my early twenties. I think it might have changed since then? I would be more than happy to go again if it’s still the best place for our needs.
We want to spend these few nights relaxing, to be near a nice beach (which is quite important) and also close to a town where we can eat out, go shopping, etc. We are 29 and 35 - not bothered about nightlife as such but would like somewhere with a bit of atmosphere. Where would you recommend? Open to suggestions of other islands.
2 or 3 nights in Trogir
I have been several times before to Split so the reasoning for choosing to Trogir is to try somewhere new and use as a base to visit Krka. Is it quite a small place? Is it worth going there or would it be better to spend more time on an island and visit Krka from Split (if we spent longer there?)
Any thoughts/recommendations on our plan would be much appreciated.
