Croatia or Provence&/or Cote D'azur

Weve planned a two week trip and want to include a few days near the coast.

No f days alotted - 4 nights (Second week or third week of september)

Will be flying/other mode of transport from Zurich (as of now, not confirmed)

We have already been to Italy and loved the amalfi coast and capri, so not looking to go there again.

Have a split decision between south of france or croatia.

If going to south of france wanted to include atleast a day or two in provence countryside (if possible). If croatia is september a good time and what are the good spots.

Looking for suggestions :) TIA

September is a good time, less crowded but still decent weather. Everyone will give different answers to what qualifies as a "good spot" and make recommendations that have already been posted a million times in this very forum, so it's up to you to investigate.

Yes so many options for areas to stay. One to consider would be Istria (Rovinj?) Rent a car and enjoy some of the hilltop towns and visit the Pula Amphitheatre. I would normally suggest a side trip to Plitvice (overnight) but with only 4 nights that means 3 full days which doesnt leave you much time for Istria itself.

You could also look at flying into Dubrovnik and spend 4 nights there. With its more southern location you may have chance for warmer/better weather. Cavtat is also a lovely little gem of town close to Dubrovnik airport. There is a water taxi that takes you into Dubrovnik Old Town within about 45 minutes. Lots of day trip options from here as well....Lokrum, Montenegro, Mostar....

Hvar & Korcula are lovely as well. They will be quieter the later in Sept that you go. Split is a good base for day trips and lots to do. Trogir is close to Split airport and is a very charming historical town. As JOJO already pointed out....the list is endless.....
