pan pacific serviced suite beach road or ascott orchard

Hello

I am traveling first time to Singapore with my elderly mom ..

My main aim is shopping and sightseeing ,

Shopping is depending on the GSS what they are offering, and since its my moms birthday a little bit pampering for her as well...

Please help which one to go for as both are coming under same price range

There are more department stores on Orchard Road. Pan Pacific Serviced Suites at Beach Road has a nicer view from the pool (of the sea, Singapore Flyer and GBTB). In the Bugis area, you can check out BHG Bugis and OG Albert for department stores.

Ascott Orchard: Orchard Road is (still) more glamorous. The malls are also neatly lined up in straight lines. Very good for people-watching. But the shopping is generally more upmarket (especially around your hotel eg. Paragon, Ngee Ann City, Mandarin Gallery, etc.).

Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road: The area is more diverse. Kampong Glam is cultural, although the Haji Lane sector is more bohemian. Bugis & beyond that City Hall are likewise heritage in scope, but are more multicultural & motley than Kampong Glam, more organic than Chinatown, & have more options for the thrifty. Bras Basah is currently an arts & educational hub. City Hall MRT also has a well-known underground pedestrian network (CityLink Mall) linking to the Marina Centre malls, tourist attractions & MRT stations. If you don't have mobility problems, there's also a shortcut (Rochor Flyover) near the hotel to walk over to Suntec City (one of the Marina Centre malls).
