Suggestions on where to go in SPRING

would like to spend Japan this coming spring but not sure where to visit.

have visited Kyoto during Spring before, really liked it alot but not sure if i wanna go back again to the same place. Visited Tokyo and Osaka too and not keen on them as well.

However, i have not visited Hakone/Mt Fuji.

and also, any suggestions on spring in Nagoya or Fukuoka? or other places?

Have around 5-6 days and would like to concentrate on a single area so we don't have to travel to and fro between towns/prefectures.

To be honest, as Spring is temperate, you can pretty much go anywhere. Out of interest, what makes you say that you're not Keen on Tokyo and Osaka?

i have been to Tokyo and Osaka, they are amazing places, however, i thought that it would be a good idea to see something/somewhere new which i've never been before...

Do you have a specific date in mind!? More solid suggestions can be put forward depending on the time of visit. For example seasonal highlight like cherry blossom is best in Kansai from late Mar to early Apr. But if you are going late Apr it would be Tohoku and Hokkaido if it is early May.

If you've been to Osaka and Kyoto, how about Nara and Kobe?

With a trip to Kinosaki Onsen:

Nagoya is not bad as a base for exploring the area and the Kiso Valley, although there aren't historic sites inside the city.

Kyoto is a city that can be explored in depth. It has some fantastic hike and historic sightseeing spots around the city as well.

Kobe Official tourism site: http://feel-kobe.jp/_en/sightseeing/

Kyoto Official tourism site: http://www.kyoto.travel/

Tohoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu are less visited by foreigners but are very nice places to relax, bath, sight-see, eat, drink ...

Kobe is another big (but nice) city to visit. However, it won't be that different from Osaka or Tokyo in my opinion. One day is enough.

Consider the following:

Tateyama - Kurobe

Nagano, Matsumoto

Kanazawa - Shirakawa-go - Takayama

Koya-san, Shirahama

The spring festival in Takayama was very interesting and colorful. We had a fun 2 nights in Shirakawa-go.
