We did that pretty much...with a few additions for special interests within the group.

I should also add...they do completely custom tours for you as well...we were keen to go in peak season with the cherry blossom..so the options were to join the tour they set. It was great...didnt see that much cherry blossom till the end...as we were a tad early. Always hard to predict the exact timing of the blossoms a year out!

#3 is very true. The timing is hard to predict but if you land in Tokyo on April 4th~ and stay 3-4 days you're pretty much 100% guaranteed to see them at full bloom.

So that would be my advice to people who really want to see them.

Actually, for this season the first forecasts were for early blossom dates, but ended up being a little late as temperatures cooled off late March. That did not stop Helen from getting some great blossom (plum and cherry) at several different locations including in Tokyo at the beginning of April. (But the seasons can vary +/- two weeks at the extremes - normally +/- one week.)

However, across spring we are now into our fifth week of cherry blossom viewing with my current group enjoying full bloom in the mountains around Takayama and we are almost at the end of April (and we had another group that enjoyed blossom in Kakunodate at the weekend).

Trip Advisor has just announced that they will have a place for multi day tour reviews.

I am not sure where they will be located on this site but it certainly sounds like you would want to post your review there when we find out exactly how to do it.

We really enjoyed Japan Custom Tours Late Cherry Blossom Tour 2017. The blossom timing was good, we had wonderful warm weather and so could enjoy the flowering cherry and orchard trees, as well as the spring green leaf changes on ginkgo and many other trees in different areas. Patrick took us to many places of great interest; shrines, temples, castles, museums, gorgeous gardens, parks and markets.

The introduction to Japanese culture and food was great, particularly time spent at the Ryokan with the Japanese food, a geisha performance and a soak in the onsen. The accommodation was excellent with all hotels at convenient locations. It was wonderful to have transport all arranged, tickets and transfers sorted so that it was a case of just follow Patrick and relax.

Some of the highlights for us would be; the long day north to the beautiful Matsushima Bay; visiting the snow monkeys; the walk through some of the thousands of Tori gates at Kyoto; the day near Kanazawa spent at the Yonokuni no Mori craft village with its lovely parklike grounds; and our visit to the ancient village at Shirakawa-go high among the snowclad alps.
