1. No problem for either hotel.

2. TST probably has more choices of Indian food.

But these two hotels are in different classes with a big gap in price. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Just to clarify, there are two Intercontinentals in TST. My assumption was IC-Salisbury when I made reply #1 (the other being IC-Grand Stanford which is also a 5* hotel, but not as top end as IC-Salisbury).

Both hotels are in the city and well positioned, walkable (~5 minutes) to nearby MTR stations.

Both areas (Wan Chai and TST) are happening areas. From Intercontinental Salisbury, it's a 5-minute walk to MTR TST station.

As Glacierfed said, the two hotels don't belong in the same league. It's a no-brainer to choose Interncon if you have the budget.

Intercontinental Hong Kong is a 5-10 minute walk from Chungking Mansions - not only a place with the cheapest accommodation of Hong Kong, but also home to several Indian restaurants. That'd be a first target for your home food fix. For more suggestions visit https://www.openrice.com/en/hongkong

Both are at the end not too far from each other less than two km plus a short ferry ride.

I would take the Intercontinental. If you get a harbour view room, It will be a nice view. Intercontinental has direct access to the promenade. Woodlands, Sangeetha, Branto and more Indian (veg) restaurants are in walking distance (below 1km).

Of course everyone prefers the Intercontinental when budget is not a factor. It is one of the top hotels in Hong Kong.

Intercontinental is a great choice. I'm not sure OP will like the environment of Chungking Mansions.
