I'm coming to Amman end of May, have a few questions.

Obviously face masks required indoors, are they are requirement outside if walking on street?

Is uber available between 11pm to 6am as have 4am flight in morning?

Also restaurants open as usual?

Jett website no longer shows bus times to Petra at moment, are their alternative ways to get their on a budget.

Ash face mask mandatory outside ,sadly not every one wear them thats why the virus is hard to control.

can book a taxi to airport anytime 24 hours. if stopped you show your flight ticket

restaurants mostly take away, no shortage of those around budget hotels especially in downtown restaurants sell local food tasty and cheap.

if jett bus not running. Go to South station at southern terminal?Mujamaa Janoobi there is mini bus service for local but no time table bus moves when fills up

ideally stay in downtown there are a number of quality budget hotels.plus you can visit tourists attractions on foot within walking distance

Your hotel can arrange for a taxi or driver to take you to the airport, and I think you can schedule Uber in advance. I had an early morning flight, and my taxi driver asked me to WhatsApp him a copy of my ticket to show any checks on his way to pick me up. If you can't find a driver to do this in advance, DM me, and I'll send you a name and number of a good English-speaking taxi driver.

Ash, face masks are not mandatory when you are outside unless you are within 2 meters of people which is very likely in Amman. However, if you are trekking through tourist sites like Petra, Wadi Rum, and Jerash, you don't need to wear them because there are so few people in those areas at this time that you are far enough away that you won't encounter possible transmissions. It's up to you if you want to wear a mask but it is not mandatory outside (you won't get fined).

As for Uber and/or taxis, be sure to make your reservation with either ahead of time (before 11 PM). If you try to order either during lockdown, they may not be able to accommodate you unless you are also able to WhatsApp them your flight itinerary. Best to get the contact info ahead of time. Regarding restaurants, more and more are starting to open up ever since the relaxed curfew hours, especially cafes that also serve food. Food delivery is available until 3 AM from services like Talabat, Careem, and DeliveryOne.
