Is there an evev / eruv in Eilat?

Hello folks, would anyone know if there is an eruv in eilat, and if so is there any beach reachable within it? I have not been able to find this information anywhere online.

A friend who is shomer Shabbat may join us and it would be wonderful if she were able to come snorkeling on Saturday. By the way, posts I've read here have been incredibly helpful. Each time someone answers a question for one person, there are probably dozens (at least) who benefit from the information. Thank you!

Yes, there is an eruv in Eilat - for more specific detailed info (I could not find a map online) you can contact the local regional religious council - their website (only in Hebrew) is: http://www.dat.gov.il/religion/console/show/council.aspx?current_posting=&council_id=7

However, even if there is an eruv, it's questionable whether your friend would go snorkeling or swimming on Shabbat for reasons that are beyond the scope of this forum.

There is Eruv in every city, town and village in Israel. If she'll join you is another matter, beyond the scope of this forum. Just ask her.

Thank you for the information, and for letting me know that an eruv may not be the entire answer.

Have a look at this link: http://goo.gl/maps/aDqMj

The beaches which are near the center of Eilat are good swimming beaches (A).

The beaches which are good for swimming and snorkeling are further south: the Coral Reserve (B) and the Princess Hotel beach (C).

Once you get an answer about limits of the iruv, you can figure out where to go.

The eruv does not cover the areas where one goes snorkeling which is south of the the residential/hotel area of Eilat. Someone who is Shomer Shabbat cannot get to those areas by foot and thus the issue of the eruv is irrelevant in this case.
