A couple of recent issues are worth noting. In April Modi effectively forced migrant Nepali workers on trains and buses home to Nepal where thousands of them became infected on the way. All of Nepal's covid cases came from India, and that caused tension. The border grab at Kalapani was not smart, and recently a Nepali man in India was tortured, beaten, and forced to chant anti-Nepali slogans. To say tensions are high, is an under statement.
