Visa for 5 weeks

Hi, I noticed that Nepal gives visas for 30 days and 90 days but nothing for in between.

Do you think I can get a 30 day visa and then ask for an extension up to the day I leave? Obviously, I don't want to pay the $100 for nearly 2 months when I won't be there.

Hi John

Initial visas can be extended and it's a reasonably straightforward (mostly).

Extensions cost $2 per day but the minimum charge is $30. A 30 day visa plus extension will cost $70 (and maybe the taxi fare to go to the Dept. of Immigration and back - though it is walkable from Thamel).

However, a 15 day visa costs $25 and the extension $40 (assuming 35 days total) saving $5.
