Mauritius is opening its borders on the 15th July 2021!

Hi Everyone,

Mauritius has just announced its opening its borders on the 15th July. Booked with a specialist like Seyexclusive for the best deals and here below is the info you need:

Phase 1:

From 15th July 2021 to 30th September 2021 will enable vaccinated travelers to enjoy a resort holiday on the island.

Holidaymakers will be able to enjoy facilities within their chosen resort premises, including the swimming pool and beach. If guests stay over 14 days and have negative PCR tests during their stay in the resort, they will be able to explore the island’s attractions. However, for shorter stays, they may leave the resort earlier and travel back home.

A list of pre-approved Covid-19 safe resorts will be available from 20th June 2021 at www.mauritiusnow.com

Travelers to Mauritius aged 18 years or over must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. They must undergo a PCR test between 5 and 7 days before departure and a negative result is required to travel to the island. Travelers will also have a PCR test on arrival at the airport in Mauritius and on day 7 and 14 of their resort holiday, as applicable.

Phase 2:

From the 01st of October 2021, vaccinated travelers will be allowed entry without restrictions upon presentation of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure.

Unvaccinated travelers will be subject to 14 days in-room quarantine for both Phases 1 and 2 until further notice.

Hi! Thank you for the update. Do they specify what would they do with children which are unvaccinated after October? If we travel as a family with a child (5 y/o) would they let us explore the island? Thx

Great news, but double vaccinated AND a negative test seems a little excessive to me. We will comply however when we come out in November. Desperate for a foreign holiday

Any idea on the costs of these Covid tests Mauritius end? Seriously thinking of moving this trip to an alternative destination. I don’t go on holiday to be confined to a hotel complex, no matter how much I need and want my holiday. We are due out September.

This is great news. however, I note that as of today, FCO (for travellers from England), still advises against travel rendering travel insurance policies void, so this will have to change before we can look forward to enjoying Mauritius once again?

As far as we know nonvaccinated children will be allowed to accompany their vaccinated parents in the same resort:

The Ministry of Tourism approved a protocol for vaccinated travellers travelling to Mauritius in the first phase of reopening today.

It was prepared on June 7 by Dr. Catherine Gaud and applies to tourists, holders of residence permits of any kind, and Mauritians wishing to benefit from this type of quarantine.

Accompanying children under the age of 18 will be able to go to the same resort as their vaccinated parents.
