We’ve refined our itinerary for our month in Morocco, based on helpful input from @TimCullis and some more research from the forums and guidebooks. We’ve dropped the desert visit and have reduced the number of 1 nighters to permit us to do a bit more local exploring. I’m really excited about the trip, particularly before and after the Dades valley. I’m not sure about the Dades valley and area. I dropped Todra Gorge as a stay, although we might take a quick peak, because it seemed more touristy. I’m excited about Skoura, but not so sure about staying and hiking in the Dades valley proper or the valley of roses. I’d love any input on the merits of Dades versus rose valleys for scenery, access to nice villages and hiking. Also would appreciate any tips on special things to do and places to see and stay on the broader trip. We love walking, hiking, cycling, arts and culture, traditional villages and people. Thank you! Here’s our itinerary:
4 nights in Marrakech; 2 nights in Essaouira; 3 nights in Tafraoute; 1 night Taroudant; 2 nights Tamnougalt (Kasbah Maktob sounds amazing!); 2 nights somewhere up the Dades valley; 2 nights Skoura; 1 night Demnate; 3 nights in Ait Bougemez valley; 1 night Marrakech to return car; train to Fez and 3 nights there; 2 nights Chefchaouen; 1 night Tetouan then fly to Spain.
