Is there many shopping malls in the city or do you have to rent a car and drive to outlets like other major cities for good deal thanks guys
Thinking of going to Clarksburg outlets but was hoping to get similar shops in city
There is good shopping downtown in the metro center area. There are stores like Macy’s, Zara, Forever 21, H and M etc. there is also a row of upbrand stores. For a more upscale experience, Georgetown is full of boutiques as well as lower cost stores. If you like malls, both Pentagon City (more compact mall but has most mall stores) and aTysons Corner (huge nice mall with many department stores) are metro accessible.
There are two notable shopping malls that are metro accessible. Pentagon City Mall is a good sized mall just outside the city proper.
Then there's Tyson's Corner Mall a bit further out on the Silver Line. It's a much bigger mall with a few more unique stores (and an option to go high end at the nearby Tyson's Galleria).
Frankly I don't see a ton of difference between those malls and the closest outlet places. There's new outlets near National Harbor which is closer to the city than Clarksburg but frustratingly not close to metro but you could take a quick cab ride from a couple of metro stations.
If you want that kind of outlet mall, you cannot get it in the city. I haven't been to Clarksburg, but a friend has and said she thought it was really good.
