Planning a trip up in Late June early July and was wondering what the water is usually like in Lake Charlevoix. Would like to swim and other boating watersports.

Lake Charlevoix has warmer waters than Lake Michigan and there are three public beaches.

Lake Charlevoix huge, and shaped like a "Y" so water sports are "better" in some locations than others ... The main channel is better for sailing but obviously not for water skiing etc etc

The area near the town of Charlevoix/Round Lake is much busier, larger boats (yachts) for quick access to Lake michigan.

The two fingers are busier near their ends (Boyne City and East Jordan). The Boyne City branch is larger/wider and rougher with generally more traffic.

Obviously weekends are busier than weekdays still there should be no problem kayaking canoeing in the morning and evening
